13 February 2012Greenwich student wins De Vere Academy of Hospitality National Chef Competition 2011
A Greenwich apprentice has scooped the coveted title of Chef of the Year at a competition judged by celebrity baker Paul Hollywood. Tom McLachlan from South London beat 15 other young chefs to be named the winner of the first De Vere Academy Annual Chef awards held at Charlton Athletic FC. The student wowed the judges with a rack of lamb and truffle mash and a dessert of chocolate tarte with a raspberry compote and crème fraiche.
