HRC launches new Licensed Hospitality apprenticeship
Hertford Regional College (HRC) will become the first training provider in Hertfordshire to offer a new BII (British Institute of Innkeeping) apprenticeship qualification in Licensed Hospitality.
The new qualification, launching in February, has been designed specifically to meet the needs of the licensed hospitality industry through consultation with employers, People 1st and industry experts in response to skills gaps identified by the Sector Skills Council.
The apprenticeship is open to anyone over the age of 16, either working or wishing to work in licensed hospitality premises such as pubs, clubs, hotels and restaurants.
Stuart Dunlop, programme area manager for Hospitality and Catering at HRC, said: "The introduction of the Licensed Hospitality apprenticeship comes at a very exciting time for us as a forward-thinking college dedicated to providing opportunities and support for the industry. This qualification is unique in that it has been designed in conjunction with the licensed trade for employers that have, until now, had nothing to meet their specific recruitment needs."
