It has been reported that retailer and TV's Dragon Den star Theo Paphitis is set to acquire hardware chain Robert Dyas.
Mr Paphitis, owner of the stationery retailer Ryman, is thought to be in "advanced talks" about purchasing the 100-store chain for up to £10 million. A deal could be announced as early as this week.
The other major suitor for the business, Wilkinson, pulled out of its bid last month.
